Pot Lucky!
The pottery is open as normal. The disastrous flooding that hit Cockermouth stopped at the door of the pottery. Visitors are welcome as ever but please note the directions below to avoid closed bridges. The nearby car parks are also open as usual.
We greatly appreciate the support we are receiving from our customers in these difficult circumstances.
Directions to avoid closed bridges
Cockermouth is just off the A66 about half way between Keswick and Workington. From the M6 junction 40, take the A66 towards Workington, passing under Blencathra and Skiddaw on the right, and then up the west side of Bassenthwaite Lake.
Approaching from the east, turn right towards Embleton at the end of the lake. Follow this road through Dubwath and Embleton into Cockermouth, passing Cockermouth School on the right. Turn left into Market Place at the bottom of the hill (Castlegate).
Approaching from the west, at the Sheep Centre roundabout on the A66, turn towards Cockermouth and follow the road to the traffic lights. Turn right. At the next lights turn right again into Lorton Road. When the road bears sharp right, turn immediately left into Kirkgate which leads to Market Place.
